The coral colored focal pieces for these earrings are made from used, discarded, and reclaimed school supplies. In many cases, there is no current method of recycling these plastics via traditional means. (All plastics are cleaned and sanitized before use). The "corals" are all cut by hand, and each pair is one of a kind. Each pair of earrings should be considered sisters rather than twins - they look very much alike but are not completely identical. Bold and statement-making, but incredibly lightweight.
These come on 24k gold plated brass earwires and the earrings measure just over 3" long.
Colors may look different in person than they appear on screen. The colors of the earrings as they are being held up are truer than the colors when they earrings are laying flat on a surface. These are considered costume jewelry and should be kept in dry areas when not being worn (so don't keep them in the bathroom or kitchen, don't go swimming in them, don't wear them while dancing in the rain, etc.). Spraying chemicals on or near costume jewelry may speed up the "antiquing" of metal - for instance, perfumes, hair spray, make-up setting sprays.
