A one of a kind set of statement earrings, made from a variety of reclaimed and traditionally unrecyclable materials. The hexagons include blue remnants from the beads we create for our "dirty balls" collection and are combined with clouds made from yogurt lids. The white and multicolored oval drop is made from to go soup container lids and straws. We finished this pair of earrings in a sanded "sea glass" style finish, giving them a softer look. The ear posts for these are surgical steel, and the earrings measure approximately 2.5" long.
Due to the handmade nature of these earrings and the materials used to create them, slight differences should be expected from pair to pair, and from the image shown to illustrate the earrings. Colors may look different in person than they appear on screen. This listing is for one pair of earrings, only. All other photos are included for size and material reference.
Blue Skies and Flower Fields Drop Statement Earrings
These are considered costume jewelry and should be kept in dry areas when not being worn (so don't keep them in the bathroom or kitchen, don't go swimming in them, don't wear them while dancing in the rain, etc.). Spraying chemicals on or near costume jewelry may speed up the "antiquing" of metal - for instance, perfumes, hair spray, make-up setting sprays.
A portion of our proceeds are donated to environmental conservation efforts. We donate a minimum of $1,000 per year to Ocean Conservancy as part of their Business Champions for Sea Change Program. We also donate $1 to Mangrove Action Project for each package we ship. The sale of these pieces also helps to fund the direct clean-up of thousands of pieces and pounds of plastic trash, as well as helping to fund environmental education efforts.
