These gold and sunset teardrop earrings are set with "stones" made with mindfully mined micro plastics embedded in resin. Ethically sourced metal is combined with recycled ocean plastics to make these unique, artisan earrings.
The micro plastics were collected as part of regular beach clean-ups. Hey Lola clean-ups have resulted in hundreds of pounds of garbage removed from coastlines and cities around the world. In addition to clean-ups, Hey Lola uses trash collected to build sculptures which are used in ongoing educational events and exhibits about single use plastic and the environment.
Due to the handmade nature of these earrings, your jewelry might show slight differences from the one shown. The posts are stainless steel. Earrings are plated nickel-free with 24k gold or .999 fine silver. Prior to plating a protective sleeve is applied to the stainless steel post. A secondary process of oxidization provides the aged look to the metals. Earring findings have been tested with Mutual Cornell and have certification that they have passed the EU Standards for lead and nickel release.
