These earrings used to be straws.
Found on clean-ups, collected from people who didn't want to see them end up in a landfill, cleaned, cut, and turned into something that looks like it grew there.
These hoops focus on a single color, which gives them a different quality than my wilder ones. Quieter. More like finding one perfect flower than a whole bouquet.
The oval hoop lets them move.
I've made these in several colors, and each is it's own mood.
Sales from these earrings help fund local clean-ups, environmental education, and a free public art space I open every Saturday - a place where anyone can come make something.
Made in small batches. Limited availability. The materials depend on what I find, so no two batches are exactly alike.

Dolly - Recycled Flower Oval Hoop Earrings in Silver and Pink Lemonade
These are considered costume jewelry and should be kept in dry areas when not being worn (so don't keep them in the bathroom or kitchen, don't go swimming in them, don't wear them while dancing in the rain, etc.). Spraying chemicals on or near costume jewelry may speed up the "antiquing" of metal - for instance, perfumes, hair spray, make-up setting sprays.
When not worn, pieces should be stored in a dark, cool place, away from light and air exposure. Hair spray, perfume, etc should be applied and allowed to dry before putting on jewelry. These are not out of the ordinary storage solutions, but rather, best practices for all jewelry pieces.
