The delicate, white, semi-translucent flowers on these earrings were upcycled from water bottle lids. I regularly find water bottle lids on my clean-ups, and sadly, I have plenty of these in supply. The flowers hang from white gold fill (so they look silver) 35 mm hoops.
Because of the labor-intensive process of this work and the uncertainty regarding sourcing of materials, these earrings are made in small batches and have limited availability.
Gold-filled jewelry has 100x more gold alloy than gold-plated plated. Because that layer is so much thicker, it means gold-filled jewelry lasts longer and stands up to wear and tear better than gold-plated.
