The delicate, white, semi translucent flowers on these earrings were made from water bottle lids. I regularly find water bottle lids on my clean-ups and sadly, I have plenty of these in supply. The flowers hang from white gold fill (so they look silver) 35 mm hoops.
In many cases, there is no current method of recycling the plastics I use via traditional means. The plastics used for these earrings are currently not recyclable where I live. All plastics are cleaned and sanitized before use.
Due to the handmade nature of these earrings and the materials used to create them, slight differences should be expected from pair to pair, and from the image shown to illustrate the earrings. The sale of these pieces also helps to fund the direct clean-up of thousands of pieces and pounds of plastic trash, as well as helping to fund environmental education efforts.
These are considered costume jewelry and should be kept in dry areas when not being worn (so don't keep them in the bathroom or kitchen, don't go swimming in them, don't wear them while dancing in the rain, etc.). Spraying chemicals on or near costume jewelry may speed up the "antiquing" of metal - for instance, perfumes, hair spray, make-up setting sprays.
