Ball pit balls are one of my favorite throw away items to create with. They can't be recycled where I live (or in most places), so I enjoy trying to figure out what their new purpose should be after they've outlived their usefulness in the pit. The pink in these earrings comes from leftover parts of reworked and reimagined ball pit balls.

These are considered costume jewelry and should be kept in dry areas when not being worn (so don't keep them in the bathroom or kitchen, don't go swimming in them, don't wear them while dancing in the rain, etc.). Spraying chemicals on or near costume jewelry may speed up the "antiquing" of metal - for instance, perfumes, hair spray, make-up setting sprays.
When not worn, pieces should be stored in a dark, cool place, away from light and air exposure. Hair spray, perfume, etc should be applied and allowed to dry before putting on jewelry. These are not out of the ordinary storage solutions, but rather, best practices for all jewelry pieces.
