I made this pigment mix with bio resin, beach plastic, old paint peeled from my palette, the aluminum flashing from old wires, and just a hint of silver leaf. To say I'm obsessed with it is an understatement. I was also listening to a lot of Fleetwood Mac when I designed these, so we thought it was only appropriate to call this pigment mix 'Silver Springs." These measure approximately 1.5" long and come on hypoalleregenic silver plated brass earwires.
Due to the handmade nature of these earrings and the materials used to create them, slight differences should be expected from pair to pair, and from the image shown to illustrate the earrings. Colors may look different in person than they appear on screen. This listing is for one pair of earrings, only. All other photos are included for size and material reference.
Blue, Silver and Green Recycled Drop Earrings
These are considered costume jewelry and should be kept in dry areas when not being worn (so don't keep them in the bathroom or kitchen, don't go swimming in them, don't wear them while dancing in the rain, etc.). Spraying chemicals on or near costume jewelry may speed up the "antiquing" of metal - for instance, perfumes, hair spray, make-up setting sprays.
A portion of our proceeds are donated to environmental conservation efforts. We donate a minimum of $1,000 per year to Ocean Conservancy as part of their Business Champions for Sea Change Program. We also donate $1 to Mangrove Action Project for each package we ship. The sale of these pieces also helps to fund the direct clean-up of thousands of pieces and pounds of plastic trash, as well as helping to fund environmental education efforts.
