I recently made hundreds of paper flowers for an art exhibit that told the story of the heartless and devastating bulldozing of a community garden. These flowers have since been used in other projects and have gone to different homes, creating a kind of community garden that travels around the world. That brings me great joy. My final step in this project was to photograph these flowers with words of snark, motivation, wisdom, and love, continuing to send this garden out into the world as a beautiful echo of the space that once was. The love and care that people planted there will live on.
